The invention relates to the technical field of macromolecules, and particularly discloses a halogen-free flame-retardant polypropylene compound as well as a preparation method and application thereof. The halogen-free flame-retardant polypropylene compound is prepared from the following components in parts by weight: 60 to 90 parts of polypropylene, 10 to 30 parts of flame retardant, 0.5 to 2.0 parts of hindered amine, 0.2 to 1.0 part of benzoate and 0.1 to 0.8 part of antioxidant. The hindered amine and the benzoate are simultaneously added into a traditional halogen-free flame-retardant system, so that the oxygen index and the vertical flame-retardant property of the composition are remarkably improved, and the requirements of peripheral parts of a new energy automobile battery on materials are completely met.
