The invention provides a battery management support device and a battery management support method for supporting proper management of a battery. The battery management support device acquires information about the electric vehicle (10). The electric vehicle (10) is provided with: a battery (11) that can be charged by power received from an external power source (PS); a battery monitoring device (16), which is an example of a battery management support device, acquires battery-related information (for example, battery-related information (51)), which is information relating to an electric vehicle (10); the battery-related information includes at least information indicating the temperature of the battery (11) when the electric vehicle (10) is parked, information indicating the state of electrical connection between the electric vehicle (10) and the external power source (PS) when the electric vehicle (10) is parked, and information indicating the operating state of a cooling device (17) of the battery (11) when the electric vehicle (10) is parked.
