The present invention provides an airbag device which controls the deployment behavior of an airbag having a plurality of chambers to constrain a subject, a method for controlling the airbag device, and a system for controlling the airbag device. This airbag device is provided with: a first chamber which is filled with gas supplied from a first gas supply unit and which inflates and deploys in the traveling direction of a vehicle body; a second chamber disposed rearward of the first chamber and capable of communicating with the inside of the first chamber through a communication part; and a third chamber which is configured to cover the communication part and is inflated and expanded by being filled with gas supplied from a second gas supply part so as to adjust the opening degree of the communication part.
