The invention relates to a device and method for preventing a steel wire rope on pulley pieces of hoisting equipment from disengaging from a groove. According to the main technical means and the method, an approximately arc-shaped channel is composed of the pulley pieces and a plurality of pulleys; besides, magnetic members are arranged between the pulleys, and the steel wire rope is attracted by the magnetic members and prevented from moving freely; and thus the steel wire rope is prevented from disengaging from the groove. The concrete form is shown in drawings in the specification.
