A slewing bearing is connected with a rotary table and a chassis frame, a slewing reducer is arranged on the rotary table and connected with the slewing bearing, a boom body is hinged to a derricking cylinder, and the derricking cylinder is hinged to the rotary table. A slewing coder is arranged on the rotary table, and a pinion at the lower portion of a rotary shaft of the slewing coder is meshed with an outer gear of the slewing bearing. A horizontal dip angle sensor and a length sensor are installed on the boom body, and a controller is installed on the rotary table. The horizontal dip angle sensor, the length sensor and the slewing coder are electrically connected with the controller. Corresponding limit values of the working radius R and the slewing angle theta of the boom body are prestored in the controller, the working radius R and the slewing angle theta are calculated and compared with the corresponding limit values of the working radius R and the slewing angle theta of the boom body through the controller in real time, the working range of the overhead working truck boom is widened, the potential of an overhead working truck is brought into full play, and a good effect is achieved.
