Provided is a remote monitoring assist device (120) which acquires a signal output from a control board (110) to the exterior of the control board (110), generates notification information containing information pertaining to the status of an elevator (101) on the basis of the acquired signal, and transmits the generated notification information to a management server computer (130). Thus, by acquiring the notification information based on the signal output from the control board (110) to the exterior of the control board (110) and transmitting same to the management server computer (130), remote monitoring of an elevator (101) is not limited to an elevator (101) in which the control board (110) thereof is provided with a communication function for communicating with an external device which is disposed in a remote location, but can be performed even for an elevator (101) that is not provided with the communication function.
