The application provides a system and method for detecting damages of a diversion tunnel lining structure, which are used to realize high-precision automatic detection of damage evolutionary characteristics of a tunnel lining structure under the condition that a diversion tunnel is not emptied. The system includes an underwater robot and a robot control apparatus; the underwater robot is provided with a camera device, a three-dimensional sonar device and a transparent protective cover at a front end of the body of the underwater robot. After the underwater robot enters the diversion tunnel, the camera device collects image data of a tunnel lining, and the three-dimensional sonar device collects three-dimensional ultrasonic data of the tunnel lining; when the robot control apparatus receives the image data of the tunnel lining and the three dimensional ultrasonic data of the tunnel lining transmitted by the underwater robot, it generates a three-dimensional structural model of the tunnel lining based on the image data of the tunnel lining and the three-dimensional ultrasonic data of the tunnel lining, and performs a comparative analysis on test results and a damage simulation analysis at different times according to the three-dimensional structural model, so as to obtain evolution characteristics of the damage and cracking of a tunnel lining surface over time.
