Abstract Multinomial logit models of travel mode and destination choice are calibrated using a disaggregate data base. Previous practice is extended to investigate the effects on model parameter values of socio-economic standardization of tripmaking households for the journeys to work, shop and recreation. These models are calibrated at the regional scale. Values of travel time and travel demand elasticities are presented, and compared with the findings of previous studies in this field.
