Uncooled nuclear rocket nozzle would provide significant weight, cost, and reliability advantages; current data on materials indicate that composite materials systems would be capable of successful operation in extreme environments imposed on nuclear rocket nozzles; four-basic-composite-materials-systems concept which has been developed under preliminary program sponsored by Martin-Orlando.
