Method claimed to be relatively cheap and convenient is to store energy in inductance or condenser as used by Philips Industrial Ltd; condenser storage system has much higher efficiency than inductive system; and it is possible to control with great accuracy amount of heat generated at weld; current flow can be easily cut off whereas asymptotic discharge of induction machine cannot easily be shortened. From publication issued by Philips Industrial (Philips Lamps, Ltd). (See also Engineer v 169 n 4389 Feb 23 1940 p 189-90)
