Investigation of operating curves of motors with separate excitation, of d.c. motors with series excitation. Operating safety is to a great extent dependent on operating curves, and it is concluded that regenerative braking can be regarded as actually safe only on 3phase current and single-phase a.c. railroads using the Oerlikon connection or single-phase 3-phase current transformation.
