Position control is one of the exciting problems in control system engineering. Several control algorithms have been developed and applied to address that application. This thesis aims to control the position of a satellite by using a two-phase Hybrid Stepping Motor. The motor is used to receive satellite signals and accurately track the satellite as it moves across the sky; however, In the fact that, antennas should track the satellite only in the azimuth directions because the elevation angles to the satellite are almost constant. The two-phase hybrid stepping motor is widely used for the driving part in industry controlling, the research for control algorithm applied to stepping motor becomes more and more critical. The Mathematical and the structural model of the two-phase hybrid stepping motor apply the traditional Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) control, the Fuzzy PID control methods Fuzzy Logic Control (FLC) and Fractional Order PID (FOPID) control. Firstly, the PID controller and FLC were designed by the Ziegler-Nichols tuning method to obtain the control parameters. The simulation model of the Fuzzy-PID controller in MATLAB/Simulink is also found. The simulation is preformed separately for the conventional PID controller and the Fuzzy-PID controller. The results show that the setting time and the overshoot value are significantly reduced for the Fuzzy-PID controller. The performance of the Fuzzy-PID controller is better than the conventional PID algorithm. Fractional-order controllers are more flexible and perform better than the integer-order controller simple Proportional Integral Derivative controller. The fractional-order controller has properties such as eliminating the overshoot or steady-state error and reducing setting time as well as, robustness for the plant gain variations, and good disturbance rejection. In this work, a fractional-order controller is designed for a Two-phase hybrid stepping motor to control its speed. Analog realization of the controller is being performed. Circuit ...
