Asphalt cement is an important part of the asphalt mixture, which is mixed by bitumen, mineral filler and additive, but there are few researches on how can additives improve the properties of asphalt cement effectively. Three kinds of additives are chosen, includes mineral fiber, French PR plast module additives and German duroflex additives, and a new type of dynamic shear rheometer Advanced Rheometer (AR) is used to appraise the effect according to the Asphalt Binder’s criterion of superpave, and discuss the different modified elements by different additives. The result indicates that these additives can improve the properties of the asphalt cement, but the modification effects are different because of different modified elements, the modification effects of French PR plast module additives and German duroflex additives are better than that of mineral.
