Suchphrasen werden in doppelte Anführungszeichen gesetzt.

Diese Suchanfrage findet nur Datensätze, in denen die angegebenen Wörter in exakt dieser Schreibweise und Reihenfolge enthalten sind.
Boolesche Operatoren und Klammerung
Für die Suche können die Operatoren AND, OR und NOT verwendet werden. Die Operatoren sind in Großbuchstaben zu schreiben. Sollen mehrere Operatoren in einer Suchanfrage verwendet werden, so müssen diese mit Klammern logisch voneinander getrennt und als Abgrenzung zwischen allen Suchtermen verwendet werden.
Beispiel: (mobility OR transport) AND research AND NOT e-mobility
Diese Suchanfrage findet Datensätze, in denen entweder "mobility" oder "transport" und immer "research" aber nie "e-mobility" vorkommt.
Wildcards und Trunkierung
Suchterme können durch die Wildcards Asterisk (*) und Fragezeichen (?) modifiziert werden. Dabei steht ? für genau ein einzelnes Zeichen und * für beliebig viele Zeichen (auch null). Diese Zeichen können beliebig kombiniert und mehrfach in einem Term verwendet werden. Wildcards können jedoch nicht in Suchphrasen verwendet werden.

Diese Suchanfrage findet Datensätze, die z.B. die Wörter "cut" oder "cat" enthalten.

Diese Suchanfrage findet Datensätze, in denen Wörter enthalten sind, die die Zeichenkette "laser" aufweisen oder mit dieser beginnen.
