Weapon payloads first appeared about a decade ago in the form of general‐purpose UAVs adapted to carry and deliver lethal weapons. They have become one of the most visible applications of UAVs in recent years. There also now are unmanned combat air vehicles that are designed from the start to be combat aircraft. Some of the design issues addressed apply to both, but this book concentrates what may be involved in integrating weaons on to a general‐purpose AV.
