This paper provides a report on the outline of an automatic driving system developed to ensure higher efficiency in rough road durability running test which is one of automobile evaluation tests, as well as to reduce drivers' efforts in such running tests. Details of functions of an automatic traffic control equipment, one of components of the automatic driving system, will be also reported. Vehicles equipped with the automatic driving system run on guidance cables installed along both sides of a test course. The automatic traffic control equipment is capable of controlling a fleet of such vehicles so that plural vehicles can run simultaneously on the same course. It has been demonstrated by verification tests done on a plot course that the system is capable of automatic driving of the vehicle fleet stably, without causing collisions among the vehicles.
