Centre of Gravity shift, Moment of Inertia and Weight are three important factors which control the directional motion of a satellite launch vehicle. In this paper the effect of different dimensional and geometric tolerances on these factors have been analysed for the first stage motor of Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (P.S.L.V.) developed by I.S.R.O. A Computer assisted selective assembly procedure has also been developed for optimum selection of manufactured segments to get the least C.G. shift.
