Drop forging die CAD system for multidiameter axle forgings

The multidiameter axle forgings which are widly used in the mechanical industry have made up 60 % of all forgings along with gyrate solid forgings such as disks in automobile industry. Therefore to develop the forging die CAD system for the these forgings is of remarkable social and economic benefits. In this paper, the drop forging die CAD system is developed on a microcomputer for the typical forgings in truck made in the No. 1 Automobile factory of China. The system programmed in BASIC with blue prints maked both in Chinese (characters) and English, is easy to operate and find a wide application. The system consists of two major casts, namely, calculation of techniological procedure and die designing as well as automatic drawing. In the present paper only the first part emphasized.
