The stability of a vehicle and its load is dependent on the distribution of the load and the dynamics of the vehicle when cornering. This paper describes a method of measuring the tilt and the radius being steered by using the arms of two fluid-filled manometers as capacitors which are used to tune an oscillator. Centrifugal force and static tilt cause a difference in height in the arms of the manometers which is measured by noting the change in frequency of the oscillator. Steered radius can, therefore, be calculated without modifications to the steering gear of the vehicle.
