The power supply of a space base placed on the Moon is a central problem in the development of the Moon as the nearest celestial body to the Earth. At the present time, some different versions of the Moon's base power supply with using chemical, solar and nuclear power converters on the Moon's surface are being considered. The comparative analysis of the use of space power systems which are placed in low and high lunar orbits and transmit electromagnetic power from the lunar orbit to the Moon's base by the trapping of a focused electromagnetic beam is performed in this paper. From the results of this analysis, it follows that such space power systems may be an alternative power supply systems to traditional systems. A space power system with using a solar pumped laser as means for power conversion and transportation is particularly promising for the solution of the problem of power supply to the Moon's base.
