This paper describes new sensors for a follow-up control of an automatic guided vehicle AGV. In the running control system, two kinds of new acoustic sensors are examined to detect the angular difference between a moving direction of the forward running vehicle and that of the following-up vehicle. The operating characteristics of new acoustic sensors are presented.
