The change from a conventional to an object-oriented technology calls for an assessment of the technical and economical risk involved. CSEE Transport, having decided to change its development technology, applied a careful and rigorous decision process before choosing the Class-Relationship method of development with the C++ language. After completing an initial application of this technology to a major software project, CSEE Transport presents some quantitative results and evaluates the future prospects for this technology.
