Results of spectrophotometric measurements on colour aerial photographs obtained with a spectrophotometer and a suitably calibrated microdensitometer are presented. A summary is given of the basic functional characteristics of both instruments, and the calibration of the microdensitometer for radiometric measurements using available bandpass filters and suitable images is discussed. Definitions for basic colorimetric quantities are given and then used to interpret the obtained data. These results suggest the need for further testing using larger colour test panels.
