Risks and Solutions for Modern Energy Harvesting

Aus guten Gründen werden die heutigen Energienutzungssysteme von Politik und Verbänden kritisch unter die Lupe genommen und bezüglich ihrer Emissionen, Umweltverträglichkeit, aber auch ihres Ressourcenbedarfs, bewertet. Eine vergleichbare kritische Prüfung von alternativen Lösungen, wie zum Beispiel die der Elektrotraktion, wird aber häufig ideellen Zielen wie der Hoffnung, Klimaänderungen beeinflussen zu können, untergeordnet. Dadurch übersieht man gerne, dass komplexe Systeme eben nicht durch einige wenige Stellschrauben zu beherrschen sind. Dies und die industrielle Herausforderung für die Massenproduktion und Entsorgung von Systemen sind wichtige Aspekte, will man zu schlüssigen alternativen Konzepten kommen.

Because to good reasons current systems of energy harvesting and distribution are not only carefully examined by politics and associations, but they are as well assessed in terms of their emissions, their degree of environmental friendliness and their resource requirements. A comparable critical examination of alternative solutions, like the one of electric traction, is very often subordinated to individual hopes, like the desire to control changes in climate. Consequently, we often deliberately fail to notice the fact that complex systems are not that easily controlled - this is a task that could not be accomplished by just adjusting a few setscrews. This fact and the industrial challenge of mass production and disposal of systems are vital aspects to consider when you would like to come to logical alternative conclusions.
