Siemens Mobility hat mit dem Vectron ein Lokomotivprodukt für den europäischen Markt geschaffen, in dessen Entwicklung die gesamte Erfahrung aus über 1600 Eurosprintern und Eurorunnern eingeflossen ist. Erstmalig wurde damit ein Produkt auftragunabhängig entwickelt und gebaut. Es ist eine Kombination aus langjährig bewährten Lösungen und konsequent am Kundennutzen ausgerichteten sinnvollen Innovationen. Vectron deckt verschiedene Leistungsklassen als Mehrsystem-Lokomotive, Zweifrequenz-Lokomotive und Einsystem-Lokomotive sowohl für den Güterzugverkehr als auch Reisezugverkehr ab. Ergänzt wurde die Produktreihe um eine dieselelektrische Variante. Der Vectron DE ist die erste Lokomotive, die bereits heute die ab 1.1.2012 geltenden Emissionsrichtlinien einhält. Aufgrund des konsequent modularen Aufbaus der Lokomotiven, bestehend aus Basispaketen und Ausrüstungspaketen, stehen konfigurierbare Lösungen mit hoher Wirtschaftlichkeit, exzellenter Verfügbarkeit, bester Zukunftssicherheit und großer Leistungsfähigkeit sowohl für den nationalen als auch interoperablen Einsatz zur Verfügung. Somit sind die europäischen Betreiber für alle Unwägbarkeiten des zukünftigen Geschäfts bestens gerüstet.

With the Vectron, Siemens Mobility has created a new locomotive generation for the European market that profits from the vast experience gained from more than 1600 Eurosprinters and Eurorunners sold. This is the first time that such a product has been developed independently of a customers order, it is the combination of design solutions that have proven themselves over many years and practical innovations that are consistently aimed at benefiting the customer. The Vectron covers different performance classes as multi-system, dual-frequency and single-system locomotives built for freight and passenger traffic. A diesel-electric version completes the portfolio. Vectron DE is the first locomotive meeting the stringent requirements applicable from Jan 1, 2012. Based on a modular design concept comprising basic and equipment packages, it is also possible to configure attractive solutions with economic value, excellent availability, outstanding investment protection and high performance for both national and cross-border service. Thus with Vectron European train operators are fit for the uncertainties of their future businesses.
