Driven by rising demand from industries like construction, automobile and home appliances, the galvanizing industry in China went through rapid development with a continuously increasing production volume and an accelerated development speed of galvanized steel sheets products during the last decade. This paper gives an broad overview of development and application of galvanized steel sheets production in recent years, introduces the present condition and distribution of domestic galvanizing lines, sketches out the present condition of some new products such as high-strength steel sheets for automobile application, galvanized steel sheets with functional organic coatings for appliance use, and novel alloying coating steel plates. This paper also discusses the progress and development trend of galvanizing technologies and facilities.
