The Rostock Port is a test bed for future maritime GALILEO applications. It is equipped by pseudolights to generate the high precision of the future system in the harbour area. A typical operation in harbour areas is the interaction between tanker pilot/master and the assistant tugboat masters. The involved navigators experience is essential to organize and harmonize the vessel-tugboat convoy movements. The current situation is characterised by no existing additional special navigational support for towing operation. The approach for tug handling support using a maritime GALILEO application will be given in the presentation.
