The present saturation of the markets leads to the fact that customers are attracted by individual, but for the production expensive, vehicle concepts. Against this background this dissertation deals with the development of a methodology for the derivation and evaluation of dimensional scaled vehicle derivatives of the body in white for product families. This methodology contains a parametric associative approach to the design engineering of the body in white and a ratio system for the evaluation of the cost-effectiveness and the dimensional target deployment of the vehicle derivatives. The aim is to generate an optimal approach of standardization for the body in white of product families in the initial stages of product development in the described area of conflict between standardization and differentiation.
