Sound quality of EV is something very different from ICE cars because interior as exterior acoustical components can not be compared and also because customers expectation are not still the same. In this paper, we will describe some of these differences in order to point out the crucial stakes of NVH research and development. The fact that EV make no exterior noise at idle and low speeds wonder the necessity to add one for safety towards pedestrians and cyclists and if yes, the nature of this exterior noise to be useful without implying a new sound pollution. Interior sound quality is also dramatically different so that it opens opportunities to design new fluid driving experience sailboat more than off-board. Nevertheless, knowledge on these topics is low and by giving major axes of research, we encourage studies to make the development of EV possible and acceptable by its customers as by cities residents.
