The 24 GHz SLR sensor provides bearing information besides distance and speed information by using a sequential lobing technique. The performance improvement of a SLR sensor compared to a multi-sensor system without bearing information is significant in complex scenarios. With respect to the application the number of sensors can be reduced. This paper describes a radar sensor approach that provides bearing information by using the Sequential Lobing Radar technique.
