Die Einführung der CENELEC-Normen für ein vereinheitlichtes europäisches Eisenbahnzulassungsverfahren hat in den letzten Jahren die bisher in Deutschland nach den nationalen Anforderungen des EBA (Eisenbahn-Bundesamt) geltenden Verfahren in vielen Bereichen erweitert (CENELEC - Comite Europeen de Normalisation Electrotechnique; Europäisches Komitee für Elektrotechnische Normung). Insbesondere der Begriff des RAMS-Managements, als umfassende und systematische Methode zur Sicherstellung der Verfügbarkeit und Sicherheit der Systeme über den gesamten Produktlebensbereich, ist in den Mittelpunkt gerückt worden (RAMS - Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safty). Wie dieser Prozess des RAMS-Managements in der Praxis aussieht und welche Kernelemente hierbei besondere Beachtung verdienen, ist in diesem Artikel beschrieben. Anwendung hat dieser Prozess zum Beispiel bei der erfolgreichen Zulassung nach CENELEC des Achszählsystems Az LM durch das EBA gefunden.

The introduction of CENELEC standards for a unified European railway approval process has enlarged the required processes in several areas considerably in the last few years compared to those which have been applied before for national applications according to the demands of the Eisenbahn-Bundesamt (EBA). In detail, the term of the RAMS management, as a complete and systematic method to ensure the availability and safety of a product over the entire product life cycle has become the main focus. How this process of RAMS management looks like in practice and which are the key elements is described in this paper. This process was applied for example during the successful approval of the axle counter system Az LM by the EBA.
