The Advanced Robotic Gantry Ultrasonic System (ARGUS) for high-speed contour scanning of large components is currently being used to inspect the composite fuselage shells of the Hawker Horizon business jet by the Raytheon Aircraft Co., Wichita, Kansas. This paper describes the ARGUS class dual-bridge, dual-manipulator gantry system, and explains how it was able to rapidly inspect the fuselage components of the aircraft.
