The application of engineered ceramics in gun barrels has long been recognized as a potential quantum improvement for controlling temperature, reducing weight, increasing rate of fire, and controlling barrel wear and erosion. This paper describes the patented Composite Reinforced Ceramic Technology (CRCT), explains how ceramics improve gun barrel operation, and discusses potential automotive applications.
