The rolling resistance for heavy vehicle tires obtained by measurements on a large drum and by calculations using a flexible ring type model is investigated. Parameter tire estimates are obtained using modal analysis. The modification of the truck rolling road rig and the development and implementation of appropriate procedures for data logging and analysis made it possible to accurately measure truck tire rolling resistance under steady state conditions.
