An order of a 2500 metric ton lifting capacity self-propelled floating crane was placed with IHI by China Salvage Company. The characteristics of this floating crane is that it can do various salvage work offshore. Namely, two sets each of the main hook and auxiliary hook are provided so that salvage work of sunken ships and handling work of the big size grab bucket can be steadily performed even in rough sea condition. Furtheremore, it is equipped with two sets of 'IHI-DUCKPELLERS', therefore, the floating crane, one of the biggest lifting capacity floating crane in the world developed for various purposes, was delivered to the owner, China Salvage Company, on May 15, 1980 at IHI Aichi Works and is now doing various kinds of work satisfactorily along the coast of the People's Republic of China.
