Investigations have been made on the effect of DC electric fields on the movements of freshwater fish through guided channels. Fundamental equations are developed based on a simple electrode model, for the field strength in volts/metre as a function of electrode length, spacing current and liquid conductivity. A pulse control system may be introduced using an AC circuit including a digital/decimal converter, counter, phase shifter, gate element and thyristor electrode control.
