This work has been based upon a detailed analysis of left-turning vehicles in conflict with opposing flow, and upon the use of an accurate representation. As a result, some material has been provided to build an alternative method of calculation. In some simple cases, for instance the oversaturation of all branches of an intersection, analytical formulae can be derived; but in the general case, calculations have to be achieved through computerized methods of resolution. But however complicated the method may be - because the extension of computers tends to eliminate calculations difficulties - two main results are worth to be underlined: - Usual representations do not suit to solve left-turning problems, for capacity of a lane is actually time-depending - Contrary to Webster's method, the oversaturation case can be resolved by introducing the notion of maximum capacity.
