A 70 % increase in cutting speed is claimed for a technique developed in the laboratories of The Danish Welding Institute and in a Danish shipyard. The new cutting technique permits cutting of a single-vee groove with broad root face in 20 mm plates and double-vee groove with broad root face in 30 mm plates at 700 and 600 mm/minute, respectively.
