A place of flight expert systems in a general system of means of information support for decision making by an aircraft crew has been reviewed. The specifics of flight expert systems compared to conventional expert systems have been shown. A list of existing systems, their intended use and basic characteristics have been presented. A methodology for choosing means of information support based on expert survey of flight personnel and subsequent ranking of suggested clues for their possible implementation has been proposed.
