The paper presents developments related to the estimation and provision of various performance factors of capacitive ignition systems with semiconductor plugs. The structure of the information-measuring system for analyzing the components of energy release in semiconductor plugs, when used in gas-turbine engines and on test benches, is given. The possibilities of the developed method for estimating the influence of preparatory and spark stages of discharge in plugs on the wear of structural elements of plugs are described. The structure is given of a device for controlling the time delay of fuel mixture ignition in the engine combustion chambers in relation to the moment of spark discharge formation in semiconductor plugs to be used in engine development. The causes of unstable engine starts in operation are determined.
