The chapter deals with the issue of tramway lines synchronization (TLS). The authors formulated the problem as an issue of static single-criteria optimization, with the time of exit from the tramway loop in the assumed interval as the decision variable. A series of computational experiments were conducted taking into account one criterion, i.e. minimizing the number of tram crossings of different lines in one minute at the same stop. The values of the criteria were determined for significant nodes of the tram network. The optimization procedures were carried out using MS Excel, in which the network was modelled. Due to the non-linearity of the decision-making problem, a test version of Palisade’s Evolver solver based on evolutionary algorithms was used to find the best solution. The tram network of the city of Poznan was used as the input data. The final values obtained that included decision variables and target functions were compared with each other.
