It is assumed that the setpoint behavior of a closed control loop occurs without disturbance and the disturbance behavior in its turn occurs without set point changes. According to the control theory both behaviors are treated with the same controller. In this book is suggested to control these behaviors with two different devices. To differ these control devices one from another the setpoint behavior is called CLIMB mode, and the disturbance behavior is called HOLD-mode. The control devices for CLIMB mode were discussed in chapter 8. In this chapter are described the Data Stream Manager (DSM) and controllers for HOLD mode. These devices are DSM Terminator, DSM Plant Guard, LTV (linear time varying) Supervisor and HOLD controller.
