Many real world systems operate in phased mission where the reliability structure varies over consecutive time periods, known as phases. For mission success, all phases must be completed without failure. In this Chapter, we use a phased attack-defense tree to model the actions of the attacker and the defender for VANETs communication security. Based on the phased attack-defense tree model, we further investigate a phased attack-defense gamephased attack-defense game which interprets the interactions and dependency between the attacker and defender. A brief solution of the phased game is presented as an illustration for the sequence actions of attacker and defender under certain situations.
