Market segmentation of public transportation service is a process in which passenger transport companies are committed to confirming and analyzing the differences in transport market demand and discovering market opportunities. Based on resident travel survey data, this study sorts out the demand characteristics of public transport services in each street/town in Jiading District, and compares the demand differences of different streets/towns in spatial location, travel distance, travel purpose, travel time, income age, and path nature. The K-means algorithm further divides the streets/townships of Jiading District into three sub-markets with obvious differences in demand for public transportation services.
