The application of fluidics to the solution of aerospace control problems began at AiResearch in 1964. Several development programs have resulted in production applications related to the major AiResearch product lines which include gas turbines, propulsion engines, air motors, and environmental control systems. Early in these development programs, it was realized that the manufacture of monolithic flueric circuits would be necessary for aerospace use of this new technology. Research and investigation of production processes resulted in the use of photochemical machining and activated diffusion bonding for production and development fluidic circuitry manufacture. The use of these processes has lead to the successful application of fluidics to aerospace products.
