Several dynamic models of a seated human body on a seat base(cushion) without backrest were presented in the literature, which were estimated based on measurements of apparent mass of the body. Important results in previous studies on dynamic modeling of seated human bodies without backrest were that 1) a parallel three degree of freedom model is adequate and 2) stiffness of the model gets softened with increase of excitation level. In this study, most appropriate model among candidates is selected for describing a seated human body leaning on backrest, and the similar characteristics as well as some more results, such as the characteristic variations of damping and stiffness of the selected model with varying input level will be discussed.
