A 640 × 400 graphic Front Luminous Vacuum Fluorescent Display (FLVFD) module has been built utilizing a newly developed ultra high resolution display technology that allowed a pixel pitch of 0.1875 × 0.225mm. The module realized multicolored capability by adopting a field sequential control scheme with the combination of a liquid crystal shutter and halftone intensity levels.
