Any great meeting needs to deliver in three areas: it needs to have a great technical program, opportunities for networking, and fun. This summer ITE did something new by holding a Joint Annual Meeting and Exhibit with the Canadian District. On all accounts, it worked out superbly. This meeting hit all three areas out of the park. First, the meeting delivered a strong and diverse technical program featuring topics from traffic signal operations to transportation and health. Technical pathways included topics such as Smart Communities, Vision Zero, Connected/Automated Vehicles, Career Advancement, Complete Streets, Trip Generation, and Transit. The meeting also delivered on opportunities to network and meet people. With nearly 1,400 attendees, there was an endless supply of new people to meet.
