In an interview, Aaron Hargraves, a systems assurance engineer working at John Holland Pty ltd in Sydney, Australia, talked about his career. Hargraves said that from a young age, he's always had an interest in problem solving and mathematics. That coupled with his interest in railways naturally led to his interest in civil engineering. He had a lot of success with his undergraduate thesis, "A Feasibility Study into the Use of String Transport Systems for Passenger Rail in New South Wales". He received the ITEANZ student prize for this work and was presented with his award at the ITEANZ annual breakfst meeting. Following the meeting, he met with the ITEANZ Executive Board and was invited to join.
