The purpose of the paper is to provide an overview of the Landsat-D project and the present status in terms of the configuration and assembly of the various components comprising the overall Landsat-D system. The two major segments are the flight segment and the ground segment. Although descriptions of the components in both segments are provided, emphasis is placed on describing the flight segment.
